Just saw that myself. If this one is anything like the one in Hickory, they have a decent fishing section. They run regular sales on Yamamoto plastics.
Only bad thing is the damned TN sales tax.

Very true. Yes, I think they will have a fishing section do to the lakes and such in the area. Plus, a great golf selection, and generally they carry stuff for about every sport. They make Hibbetts look like SportsWise.

Speaking of Hibbett, they aren't much better than Sportswise or the old Acme in Gate City.

Athelics Unlimited in GC is what your thinking of Bob I would guess. Which is still there somehow.
Acme turned into Action Athletics. Used to have a location in the mall and down below East Stone Gate. They still have the ESG store.

[richard]'s is comming to JC mall, they have killer sales in their fishing section, because they do alot of massive buying from PRADCO....which owns Bomber, Excalibur, Yum, Heddon, Smithwick and several more...I went in the one in Hickory and they had Fat Free Shads for like $3.60, they are over $5.00 normally...

No problem, show them your Va license and that you are a Va resident and they will charge you Va Tax. I know alot of places do that over in Kingsport. But come to think of it I believe it only applies to large items like refridgerators, couches, etc. items that are over a certain price point.
Glad I don't have to fool with that nobody wants to come over here from Tn or Ky and spend the higher taxes because they are residents of those states.
